Wed, Oct 11, 2017, 8:30 AM – Fri, Oct 13, 2017, 5:00 PM EDT
SOCIAL ENTERPRISE MODELS AND SOCIAL IMPACT LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY (Social Enterprise) provides a framework to explore how social innovation and enterprise can lead in providing solutions to society’s most pressing issues such as social justice, poverty, healthcare, education, food/nutrition, and economic development. Social Enterprise takes a participant through the process of developing a social enterprise, either a new idea or improving upon an existing model, including idea exploration, testing and plan execution. Social Enterprise specifically teaches participants with an interest in working in the social sector how to create and maintain an adaptive and generative orientation to grapple with the complex social reality that challenges our world. Social Enterprise is designed for those who have a deep interest in the development, leadership, and management of the 4th Sector, where the boundaries between the public, government, private, and not-for-profit sectors are blurred as many pioneering organizations and entrepreneurs have been blending social and environmental aims with business approaches.
