It seems like everyone is working these days on their "social media strategy" for their brands or designing products that are social in nature, but few really understand what it means, how it works and why it's important.
With people at the center of the web, we have the ability to transcend our limited physical reality and create something that can evolve us faster than before. But in this new world, we need to take into account existing social truths and think about the identities and respective communities we can affect. This class explores the psychological underpinnings of social design - in the spectrum of humanity and evolution - that help explain why the social systems of the past fall short and why the new trends of today are bringing us closer to self-actualization.
General Assembly is a campus for technology, design, and entrepreneurship. We provide educational programming, space, and support to facilitate collaborative practices and learning opportunities across a community inspired by the entrepreneurial experience.
