SOCAP18 is the world's leading conference on impact investing and social enterprise. Held in San Francisco, SOCAP18 will convene innovators in finance, entrepreneurship, business, government, and philanthropy from across social and environmental issue areas to accelerate the market at the intersection of money and meaning.

FAQs

Cancellation and Refund Policy (PLEASE READ AS IT IS DIFFERENT FROM PRIOR YEARS)

SOCAP incurs significant expenses prior to the event. Therefore it is necessary that we maintain the following refund and cancellation policy:

- Tickets are 100% refundable for 30 days after purchase
- 50% refundable for the next 30 days
- Zero after 60 days of purchase

** Cancellations requested within 30 days of the event will not be refunded for any reason, even if bought less than 30 days prior. For tickets bought after July 25, the last day to request a full refund is August 24. The last day to request a 50% refund is September 23. The only exceptions are for volunteers with prior approval of the volunteer coordinator or entrepreneurs who are awarded a scholarship.

** No-shows will not be refunded for any reason. No exceptions. If you cannot remember whether you have already registered, ask us! We will send an email to all registered attendees mid-September. If you receive that email twice, it means that you may be registered twice.

** We do not give credit toward the following year’s conference.

** Most tickets are fully transferable. Exception: volunteers and complimentary tickets which are given to a specific person. Speakers need to contact us before transferring their ticket to someone else. The original buyer of the ticket needs to email registration@socialcapitalmarkets.net with the following information about the new attendee: name, email address, cell phone number, job title, company, city & state of residence. You can learn how to do it yourself here. Note that the self-edit option will be disabled about 10 days before the event.

Discount Codes:

Discount codes cannot be combined and are not retroactive. We will not refund the difference if you get a better discount code or a free ticket in the future. The only exception is for those who are asked to speak on a panel.

Can I change my registration information?

Yes. Please email us or learn how to do it yourself here. Note that the self-edit option will be disabled about 10 days before the event.

Do I have to bring my ticket to the event?

No. In order to conserve our natural resources, we do not require that you print your ticket to pick-up your badge. Having the electronic version of the ticket on your favorite electronic device is sufficient. Note that this is a change from previous years. We will check-in every ticket and hand you the badge once you are checked in. If you are picking up a badge for a friend, make sure to have a copy of his/her ticket with you.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

No. We do print and give individual badges to each attendee. The name on the registration MUST match the name of the person attending, with a unique email address for each attendee. If you register two or more persons with the same email address, only one will have access to our online community platform. Learn how to make the changes yourself here. Note that the self-edit option will be disabled about 10 days before the start of the conference. You can always email us to make the name and email changes. If you make a change after the online platform has been launched, you will need to contact us so that we can update it. Updating Eventbrite will not automatically update Pathable.

I have special needs. Is SOCAP a place for me?

If you need accessibility accommodations, contact us as soon as possible registration@socialcapitalmarkets.net and let us know how we can help you get the most out of your SOCAP experience.

The campus is fully ADA compliant. However, it is spread out and requires a lot of walking. If anyone has any kind of mobility issues, we recommend that you reach out to us to discuss possible accommodations.

All meals have vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. We may not be able to accommodate other special diets. If you have a question about possible allergens, the Acre staff can tell you about the presence of given ingredients in any of the dishes available.

We will have a mother’s room. You can inquire about its location at the info desk.

We do not offer childcare. Note that the campus is on a pier, right next to the water.

When does SOCAP18 start? When will the agenda be available?

On Tuesday, registration opens at 11 a.m. and the sessions will start at 1:00 p.m. Please note that we will not serve lunch. There will be a welcome party in the evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
The main hall and registration open at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with the first sessions starting at 8:30 a.m. The sessions end around 6:00 p.m. The conference will end at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. A boxed lunch will be served.
