About Speakers
 
Neeraj Bhavani, CEO, Tagnos
Tagnos offers the leading clinical logistics automation solution for hospitals and clinics. Neeraj founded TAGNOS and oversees the strategic vision for the company. An energetic entrepreneur, he has many years of experience in healthcare informatics, wireless healthcare >and workflow automation. He holds multiple patents and has served in management consulting and IT leadership roles at Kaiser Permanente, IBM, Amgen, Blue Shield, and THQ Wireless.
 
 
Robert Brooke, CEO & Co-founder, Vitality Biopharma:
Vitality Biopharma is a drug development company dedicated to unlocking the power of cannabinoids for the treatment of serious neurological and inflammatory conditions. Previously, he was the founder of a cancer drug development company that is now known as Iovance Biotherapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: IOVA). Mr. Brooke is also a co-founder and serves on a limited part-time basis as the CEO of Intervene Immune, Inc. From 2004 to 2008, he was an analyst with Bristol Capital Advisors, LLC and investment manager to Bristol Investment Fund, Ltd. During this period, Bristol financed over 60 public healthcare and life science companies and was listed by The PIPEs Report in 2005 as being the most active investor in private placements by public biotechnology companies. Mr. Brooke has a BS. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MS in Biomedical Engineering from UCLA.
 
 
David Skibinski, President & CEO, SnapMD:
Mr. David Skibinski founded SnapMD, Inc., a telemedicine company,  in 2013 and has served as Chief Executive Officer and President since its inception. Mr. Skibinski has been in the healthcare industry for over 25 years where he worked across every sales and service channel in the industry. For more than ten years, he worked for GlaxoSmithKline in sales, marketing and managed care roles. He is known for his expert knowledge of healthcare systems and his skills in market analysis and strategy development. He is a serial entrepreneur and has founded and worked in over a dozen startups. He is a co-founder of QuantumMethod a marketing and communications company with a significant book of work in the life sciences. He was formerly a college basketball assistant coach at the U.S. Military Academy and the University of Evansville and also holds the distinction of working for Hall of Fame Basketball Coach Bob Knight at Indiana University. He holds BS in Biology from Indiana University and an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Southern California Biomedical Council

 
The Southern California Biomedical Council is a nonprofit, member-supported trade association that supports and promotes life-science research, development, manufacturing, job creation and overall economic growth in the six counties that comprise the Greater Los Angeles region (Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Riverside and San Bernardino). The Council’s programs help local firms gain access to capital, potential partners and business support services. SoCalBio also promotes technology transfer and workforce training, while informing policy makers and the public at-large about the benefits of the region’s life-science industry.  SoCalBio is open to membership by firms and organizations engaged in life-science technology development and commercialization.
