Description

Join Us and Win Money for your Team! Registration is now open for the 11th Annual SoCal Cyber Cup Challenge! In the last ten years, teams have been awarded over $140,000 in Grants from the Challenge to futher their Cyber education.

Who can Play? Open to Middle and High Schoolers in the counties of Imperial, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego, the Cyber Cup provides hands on experience and learning with Cyber Security.

Forming a Team is Easy. Talk to your friends to form a team of 3 to 8 students. Then ask your parent, teacher or another adult to help as your coach.

Wondering how you will learn “CyberSecurity?” If you wish, we will help find a mentor for your team that can guide you through the exciting training steps and learning process.

It’s Free for You and Your Team! The CyberCup is free to all participants, coaches and mentors. All you need to do is form the team and have your coach register your team at Eventbrite. Once your coach registers your team, they can forward / send an email to each team member to have them enter their registration information and link-up to your team.

How to Sign-up / Create a Team (Coaches)

  1. For EACH team, an Adult Coach will need to have a Team Name, the Name of the School, plus the city, state and zip of the school. Then Click on the GREEN Registration button on the top right of this page. Note: at this point, EvenBrite may ask you to create an account. Please follow those steps and continue with Team Creation and Registration.

  2. On the Pop-up Screen that appears, click on Team.

  3. To create your new team, click on "Create Team" in bold blue writing.

  4. Enter your team's name, and then click the red "Create Team" button.

  5. You will get a "Team Created" page with your team name on it.

  6. Click on the RED "Register" Button - you must register as the Coach.

  7. The third option down is "Team Coach", select "1" from the drop down box and then the Green Checkout button.

  8. Enter your information and the team & school information, then click on "Complete Registration".

  9. You should get a confirmation page. Half-way down there is a Gold Seal that says "Great Job Team Captain! Now invite people to join." Eventbrite does not have a "coach" setting, so it will list you as the "Captain".

  10. You can click on your team name highlighted in blue to go to your team page.

  11. From your team page, you can "Invite" the other team members (the kids on your team).

  12. FINALLY, if you have multiple teams you are coaching, you must register yourself to each team otherwise you will not be linked to the team pages, nor the teams themselves. If you use AutoFill on Chrome or FireFox, it should save most of your entry and you can just change the team name each time. As such, you will need to follow the steps 1 to 11 above for each team.

How to Sign-up for Students

  1. You should have received an email from your Coach/Captain with a link to join the correct team.

  2. If you did not receive an email from your Coach/Captain, please Click on the GREEN Registration button on the top right of this page.

  3. On the Pop-up Screen that appears, click on Team.

  4. Enter your team name in the "Join a Team" box. Your team name should appear in the drop down box.

  5. Please select one of the first two ticket options for which grade you are in and select "1" from the drop down box. Then click on the GREEN "Checkout" Box.

  6. Enter your information and the team & school information, then click on "Complete Registration".

  7. You should get a confirmation page. Half-way down there is a Gold Seal that says "Great Job Team Captain! Now invite people to join." We are trying to fix the issue that some students are seeing "Team Captain" and not "Team Member". Don't worry about this, it will not affect your resgistration.

  8. You can click on your team name highlighted in blue to go to your team page.
