Event description
Ride Your Motorcycle Anywhere Sept 14th-Oct 19th 2020, Win Prizes and Support Burn Survivors in Southern California.

About this Event

The 7th Annual SoCal Burn Ride will look a bit different this year, but you can still ride your motorcycle on a beautiful route, listen to great music, get your Ride N' Repeat photo from a professional photographer, connect with other riders from all over the country and maybe even win some killer prizes from the vendors you love - all while supporting a great cause.

So saddle up and make your fall haul count for Burn Ride 7: Ride Anywhere, Support Local!

Overview:

In compliance with pandemic-related guidelines in place for LA County and the surrounding areas, the 7th Annual SoCal Burn Ride will not include a public gathering or group ride but will still host an 'event':

- The qualifying ride portion will take place from September 14th to October 19th

- Local participants will have one, contactless photo opportunity on a Sunday during October in Woodland Hills.

- Raffle prize winners will be announced online at the end of October

- An Opening Ceremony and the winner of the High Hand / Low Hand prizes will be streamed Live on Sunday, November 1st.

Participation is open to anyone in the US with access to a motorcycle, internet and a camera/smart phone, while anyone from anywhere can donate.

All proceeds benefit Firefighters Quest for Burn Survivors (FFQ) with a portion going to Disabled American Veterans (DAV73). See website for details.

How It Will Work

What We'll Need From You:

1. Five (5) numbers between 1-52.

At checkout, you will be asked to type in five digits - like picking lottery numbers - but with NO DUPLICATES. This will then become your poker hand when, in late October, the SoCal Burn Ride Committee will go live and randomly choose playing cards to be associated with each number.

For example, say you choose the number 13 and during the live stream, a SCBR member pulls a Jack of Hearts in the number 13 slot. You now have a Jack of Hearts in your hand! The video along with a print out of the results will be viewable after the live feed so even if you can't tune in live, you'll know what your hand is afterwards.

2. Proof that you rode!

For the qualifying ride portion of our online event, you'll need to prove that you rode your motorcycle at some point between the time you purchase your Eventbrite Ticket and October 19th. To do this, at checkout you will be asked which social media platform you'll be using to post a picture of you / your motorcycle out on the road somewhere and what account / username you'll be using. Because it is impossible for us to monitor everyone's posts...

**YOU MUST TAG @SOCALBURNRIDE IN THE PHOTO'S CAPTION TO COUNT TOWARDS QUALIFICATION**

If you do not have social media, or do not want to post / tag us, you may instead email us a picture, but you do need to give us permission to use the photo if you are the winner.

Either way - you will be given the opportunity to let us know how you would prefer to be addressed online if you are the winner (we do not need to use your first and last name).

3. Raffle Entry Selections

As part of your ticket's 'Order Form' you will be asked which Raffle Prizes you'd like your tickets to go towards. Three (3) are included in the Participant price, and you may distribute all three however you like! If you choose to purchase additional raffle tickets, the same order form will appear and you can distribute them as well.

See below for which Raffle Prizes are available.

What You'll Get From Us:

Having an equal opportunity to win, the Rider/Passenger/General Participant 'ticket' ($7 in honor of our 7th year) will include:

1. Eligibility to win the High Hand / Low Hand prizes

2. Three (3) Raffle Tickets to be used on the items you want most

3. An opportunity for locals to have a professional photograph of you and your motorcycle taken with our SoCal Burn Ride backdrop (our signature 'Ride N' Repeat') from Jeff 'Top' Thomas of Turn N Burn Magazine

4. Access to the coveted 'Rockfest' Playlist. Usually on blast at our opening ceremony and afterparty but this year right in the palm of your hand so you can listen while you ride!

Other Add-Ons to consider:

- For an additional five bucks ($5), you can purchase three (3) extra raffle tickets and load them up for the raffle prizes you want most. For an additional ten ($10), you can purchase ten (10) extra raffle tickets.

- Merch! No, it's not like we've had in the past, but it is an Election Year and We Vote Motorcycles. So head over to our TeeSpring account and see if there are any styles you'd like to rock at https://teespring.com/stores/socalburnride.
