If you've never been to a Caribbean party or as we like to call it 'FETE' then this aerobic class would be the perfect introduction. Every session begins with a concentrated warm up and builds momentum to ultimately peak at a high intensity level. I program each session with the intent to avoid plateaus and I also encourage clients to create logs of fitness activity. I believe my class is effective because it is geared to train an individual to have enough balance, stamina, and strength to be able to survive a day of carnival in Trinidad. SOCA-ROBICS infuses Caribbean vernacular (traditional) dance with high intensity interval training. It's a good place to make new friends and to stay encouraged. SOCA music is a lifestyle and a community that we will be experiencing weekly. I ask that everyone arrive to CORE studios by 6:45 PM. Please have your vouchers present so I account for everyone and begin our session at our schedule time. 7PM
I know this type of physical exercise activity works because I've seen it all my life. I have an Aunt who is in her sixties who has danced to up-tempo Soca in her living room for many of years. She has managed to maintain her desired physique combined a healthy diet that keeps looking and feeling younger. She travels across seas and lives life on her terms. If Soca can do it for her, then it can do something for you too! SOCA-ROBICS is most beneficial when combined with a good diet, some resistance training...and lots of water and fun!
The energy, movement and whining in party is what makes this form of aerobic-cardio exercise fun and effective. Each session is an hour long and happens three times a week to support the ultimate support system. The atmosphere is friendly and uplifting.
I began personal training in 2011 at Equinox Gym in NYC and relocated to Atlanta, GA in 2013. It's good to be launching something creative and so dear to my experience. I am a descendant of Trinidad and Tobago and I'd like to provide Atlanta with a type of cardio-party. This is the time to take SOCAROBICS to the forefront in the South. Atlanta has the cultural diversity and love for great fitness so I know we're going to make it down the road for carnival day. Now it's Atlanta time to whine!
"Partying and whining up can burn calories! I want to train my clients like carnival is tomorrow morning and we have miles and miles to party!"
