About this event
Anti-racism work can’t just fall on the shoulders of the oppressed. If we truly want to be allies for racial justice, we have to commit to interrogating the conscious and unconscious racist thoughts and behaviors learned from a lifetime spent operating within the system of white supremacy.
This will be the 10th in a recurring series of workshops from The Nasty Woman Project where participants will reflect on their role in the system of white supremacy, recognizing and stopping racist behaviors, and what it means to be an ally to communities of color. This is NOT A CLASS, but an open discussion moderated by The Nasty Woman Project, complemented by expert voices through select media (e.g. podcast clips, news video) relevant to each theme.
This session's theme is ASSIMILATION & IMMIGRATION. Join us for a conversation about the immigrant experience, cultural appropriation, stereotypes, challenges in building solidarity, and more.
Tickets are pay-what-you-wish, and all proceeds from this event will benefit Asian Americans Advancing Justice Atlanta.
