Description

The #SoWhat – I am a Single Parent event is designed to deal with the issues surrounding single parenthood. From research and from personal experience, it has come to light the very pressing issues that surround single parents, and some of these issues will be addressed by a panel of experts attending the event.

This are the category of people are who we are calling to get there seat as soon as possible:
1. Single Parent
2. Singles Dating Single Parent
3. Friends, family and Loved Ones of Single Parents
4. Extended Parenting family structure

The intention is to find solutions to help our society heal and remove the stigma of raising a child or children alone. It can be a very lonely journey but with the right tools and systems to assist us as parents, we will be assured to get through much easier. Some of the topics we’ll be addressing are how to get back into the dating game which can be a very nerve-wrecking experience for some; how to deal with Baby Mama and Baby Daddy drama because as parents we tend to allow our personal lives affect our parenting; we’ll address who exactly we are parenting – is it the other parent or is it our very selves rather than the children who should be the main focus; and lastly how the law, customs and rights of the child should be taken into account and what impact they have on the child.

Our panel of experts are namely Mirriam Mashego who is an author and a motivational speaker, Bernie Le Battie who is a pastor and a mentor with a broad knowledge on this subject, Sibusiso Mfeka who is a brand image consultant, Elijah Padi a motivational speaker, coach and relationship expert, Siya Mtolo a media journalist and a single mother, Nonhlanhla Kone a Lieutenant Colonel who also happens to be a single mother, Nomvula Dlamini a lawyer by profession.
