Snowshoe to Smith Gap Cabin
Event Information
Description
It’s back by popular demand! On January 31st, we will be snowshoeing to the Smith Gap Cabin. This is a great opportunity to try out snowshoeing for the first time or even getting those miles in for your new years resolutions. This will be a chance for those ladies in our community who love to get outdoors in the winter months to network and meet new adventure buddies. Plan to park at the Lower Kit Carson Loop parking lot, at the hair pin turn. This is where we will meet as a group @ 11 am. We will be following the Smith Gap trail to the warming hut on the mountain. Smith Gap trail is an easy 3-4 mile hike. All skill levels can enjoy this route. First, we will across the road, past the gate, and follow the lower trail. Pack a lunch or snack for our break at the hut while we warm up by the wood stove! Then, we will head out and follow the upper trail for a scenic walk through the snow covered woods back to the parking lot. We are looking forward to playing in the snow with you! Please RSVP below.
