Enjoy an exclusive sneak peek at the Open Space Authority's newest property near Uvas Reservoir in Morgan Hill.
The acquisition of these 285 acres of open space land is the result of an innovative partnership between the Authority, Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) and the Santa Clara County Parks department. Permanent protection of this property will expand outdoor recreation for the public, provide environmental educational opportunities, and close gaps in regional trail connections.
This 1.5-mile family friendly hike gently guides visitors through the untouched beauty of the Southern Santa Cruz Mountains region and to some of the property's several ponds (which have water in them, despite the drought!).
Choose from two times:
- 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
- 12 noon - 2:30 p.m.
Be among the first to see this precious open space land!
Important Note About Directions and Parking
Parking is extremely limited (30 cars maximum). Carpooling is strongly encouraged. Directions and parking instructions will be provided upon registration.
For optimum comfort, dress in layers for a range of weather conditions and always carry water (this property has no drinking fountains). Pack snacks or lunch, especially when hiking with children. Hats, sunblock and a simple first aid kit are always good to have on hand.
