About this event
We host free remote taster sessions for you to drop in, meet the team behind our courses, and ask all of your burning questions!
Within the session we will be doing portfolio reviews and discussing how we can help you individually through our workshops.
Each bootcamp is tailored to you and your cohorts specific weaknesses, with a strong emphasis on transferable skills studios are begging for!
Our lecturers and mentors all actively work within the industry. Each week you will have lessons and mentor sessions with multiple members of the team to get as many eyes on your project as possible. Within the course you will also have a mock interview with a real recruiter and we will give you honest feedback (and we don't sugarcoat things).
Upon completing the course you will keep access to all resources and will receive long term support from our team until your first job.
The Staff:
Ani Kuemmel[Mentor]
Ani is a game dev/character artist and a mentor who loves helping emerging artists not just sharpen their skills, but also boost their confidence, help navigate the emotional challenges of doing art, and take care of their mental well-being along the way.
She’s worked on projects like Enshrouded and brings a supportive, empathetic approach to every mentorship, drawing on mental health coaching through Healthy Gamer and mentor and diversity training with Limit Break.
Ani is also involved with Women in Animation (WIA), Limit Break, and Cal Marginalized Genders in Gaming (CMGG), working to create inclusive, encouraging spaces where everyone feels part of the community.
Chris Lane [Lecturer]
Chris is your lecturer for the duration of the course, and brings a wealth of experience in 3D character design as a Lead Artist at The Digi Monsters.
With a unique perspective that blends both realistic and stylised approaches, Chris specialises in creating engaging and memorable characters that bring stories and worlds to life.
Alongside his industry work, Chris is passionate about education, supporting local colleges and running weekly sessions to help aspiring artists develop their craft and prepare for the professional world.
Jordan Thorpe [Course Director]
Jordan kickstarted our workshops and has experience with environements and hard surface, having previously worked at DreadXP before founding Snappy Gurus. Throughout our courses Jordan helps give extra feedback and offers further 121s to help push your art.
Mock Interviewer
Within the course you will be interviewed by a real recruiter, announced a week before your mocks. Upon completing your mock interview, we give extensive feedback and work with you to improve your skills!
