Many polymer clay techniques begin by rolling the clay into a snake shape, and colors can be beautifully marbled by twisting two or more colors together. Participants will learn this basic technique and transform it into 3-D snail and turtle sculptures or pendants.
About the Teaching Artist:
Laura Burlis has worked with polymer clay for eight years. She's developed her own style of using the clay like a solid paint, but also enjoys experimenting with all the exploding number of techniques for this versatile medium. Laura has volunteered with courageous heARTS as an after school apprentice since September 2016.
Fees support local artists and courageous heARTS' mission to co-create experiences with young people by offering them a safe space, built with the intention to heal and empower through expressive arts, community building, and leadership development.
