Description

If you’re running a for-profit business, that has a focus on “maximizing shareholder value”, then it is simple to tell how the business is doing: If revenue is up and your budget is on track then business must be fine. On the other hand, if you have become aware to the issues of sustainability, you may be wondering how to assess triple bottom line – people, planet, profit – value creation?

Assessing a business’s health by how much money – profit – it generates is the standard we use. With emerging social enterprises, or sustainable businesses, there come legitimate questions about how to assess performance.

In this webinar, SMSBF Executive Director, Mike Shesterkin will begin with the theory and historical context of “voluntary consensus standards” and then lead attendees through a survey of the present state of sustainable business assessments. Shesterkin will wrap-up the session with a proposition that places emphasis on the importance of localism and the need for community involvement in the validation of triple bottom line performance. There will be time set-aside for question and answer.

This webinar, the first in a series to be produced by SMSBF, is designed for anyone interested in understanding the importance of sustainable business assessments. Entrepreneurs, small business leaders, managers, academics and anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the sustainable business landscape should plan to participate in this webinar.

This session is limited to the first 24 registrants, so reserve your seat early!
