Smooth Sailing: Navigating the Straits of Accounting Requirements between Fundraising and Compliance

Development professionals are in a difficult spot. They need to enthusiastically raise funds for their organizations while also navigating a variety of accounting requirements. Problems with financial statement audits or tax compliance can damage a nonprofit’s reputation and cause the Board to lose confidence in management. Fortunately, with proper awareness, the most significant issues can be prevented. In this session, we’ll review the most common audit & tax problems encountered by development professionals. Both fundraisers and accountants will leave with solid strategies for a smooth audit and tax season.
