Description

Have you ever had to give up something you LOVE?

Smoker is award-winning New York monologist Bob Brader’s new comedy about his 28-year love affair with cigarettes and how they broke up. When Bob tries for years to quit, he realizes that smoking is not just his beloved habit; it’s an addiction and that giving up smoking is even bigger than overcoming an addiction; it’s the challenge of breaking the cycle of his childhood abuse. In this dynamic 24-character solo comedy, Bob takes us from a strange white room in LA to the psychedelic basement of a high school druggie in his hometown of Catasauqua, PA, to a trendy indoor cycling class in NYC. In Smoker, Bob demonstrates all the complex connections he has through smoking: how it helped him through a turbulent childhood, how it created jobs, opportunities and community, and one particular connection he never knew was too precious to let go.
