Description

Hike Rating: Easy-Moderate; 2 miles

Guide: David Vick, Park Interpretive Naturalist, FANs member and OSU Master Naturalist

Enjoy the magnificent scenery and wildlife viewing at Central Oregon's premiere state park. This free hike offers an inside view of the park's rich natural and cultural history. We will drop down into the canyon and then head upstream on the Wolf Tree Trail. We will discuss the dramatic geological events that shaped the park, view nesting eagles through a spotting scope and identify native plants and their traditional uses.

Please meet at the Welcome Center yurt at 9:00 and be sure to purchase a $5.00 parking pass or display an annual Oregon State Park pass. Bring sun protection, water, snacks, binoculars, camera, and comfortable hiking shoes. Call 541-771-FANs (3267) with questions.

Group size is limited to 10 people, and dogs are not allowed on this hike. If you sign up and later need to cancel, please do so as soon as possible so that people on the wait list can be invited to join this hike. Thank you!
