Event description

Description

This time, we focus on machine learning in smart grids. As distribution grids are constantly facing new challenges, there is a growing need, in the medium- and low-voltage levels, for an increase in efficiency, like capacity management. For that, affordable monitoring and the forecast of the grid state is necessary. Transferring machine learning methods into network operation, Artur Löwen will explain how his startup Gridhound addresses the challenges that distribution systems operators are facing.

Agenda:

18.30 Doors open

19.00 Welcome by :agile accelerator

19:15 'Applying Artificial Intelligence to the Energy Sector – focus on Power Distribution Grids' by Artur Löwen, CEO of Gridhound

19.45 Q&As

20.15 Drinks and Networking

About the speaker:

Artur Löwen is the CEO of Gridhound. He has more than 15 years of experience in software development, of which seven were dedicated to his work in the energy sector. The idea for Gridhound originated during his work at the Institute for Automation of Complex Power Systems at the E.ON Energy Research Center of RWTH Aachen University. There, after two years of intensive research, planning and a proof of concept in the form of a dissertation, Gridhound was launched.
