Small Ruminant Connections - FAMACHA Training
Event Information
About this event
Sheep and goat producers are invited to participate in a FAMACHA training, a segment of the Small Ruminant Connections series. Participants will become FAMACHA certified and receive an official FAMACHA card to conduct visual tests for anemia on their own operations.
FAMACHA scoring is a measure of anemia in small ruminants. Scores can be used to inform de-worming protocols and prevent parasitic resistance from developing in herds and flocks. This training includes an on-your-own online portion to be completed before the in-person workshop.
The in-person workshop will take place on Saturday, April 9th from 10am to 12pm at the UF Sheep Unit. Tickets are $20. Information on the online portion will be sent out via email.
