Biographies:

Tammie Clendenning is the Lead Economic Development Specialist for the Wisconsin District of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Tammie is responsible for providing training on SBA’s programs and services including capital access, procurement and business advising. She enjoys talking to entrepreneurs about the many resources available to them at exhibits and networking events. Tammie is the district office technical representative for the Women’s Business Centers in the state. Prior to joining SBA, she held business development and leadership positions in commercial finance. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and is a small business owner.

Shane Mahaffy has been the Lead Business Opportunity Specialist in the Wisconsin District Office since July 2015. Previously, he worked with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a procurement contracting officer. He served as a team lead and supervisory contracting specialist for procuring services, equipment, and supplies for facilities in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan. He maintains a Level III Federal Acquisition Certification. Shane began his contracting career in 2004 with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) – Milwaukee administering contracts for defense contractors throughout Wisconsin. He received Bachelors of Science in Business Management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering 2005. He is a Navy veteran.

Hilary DeBlois is the Program and Outreach Coordinator for the Wisconsin Procurement Institute. Hilary leads communication, outreach and strategic partnerships for the nonprofit. WPI is the Procurement Technical Assistance Center for the State of Wisconsin, assisting Wisconsin businesses in all 72 counties to create, develop and grow their Federal, State and Local Government sales, revenues, profits and jobs. Hilary has nearly twenty years of experience in government and community relations including working on Capitol Hill and being a state registered lobbyist. Hilary was recently elected to her second term on the Shorewood School Board.

Jean Marie Thiel – President& CEO of Belonger Corporation Inc., owns and operates a specialty trades Mechanical Contracting Company including all HVAC/R aptitudes, waste-water, plumbing, and medical gas. Also providing services in Construction Management, Facility Management, and Energy Based Performance Contracting. Experience in construction and services industry going on 33 years, specializing in federal agency procurement emphasis on contract compliance with joint venturing and mentoring opportunities. Her experience with federal agencies spans locally, regionally, and nationally Department of Army, Department of Navy, Department Airforce, Bureau of Federal prisons, GSA, Department of Transportation, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Airforce Medical Command, Dept of Interior, Joint Armed Service Reserve Centers, USPFO, USDA, Reserve Centers, Dept of Housing, and Dept Health Human Services.

Dr. Vicki Martin is the tenth president of Milwaukee Area Technical College. She has served in higher education for nearly four decades, at MATC for three decades and has led the college since 2014. The Milwaukee native and first-generation college student holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, master's degrees from the University of North Dakota (counseling and guidance) and Cardinal Stritch University (business management), and a doctorate degree in educational leadership and policy analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to serving as MATC president, Martin was the college’s executive vice president and provost, directed MATC’s strategic planning and research efforts, oversaw a campus as vice president, and was a campus student services director. She began her career as a counselor at UWM and at Carroll College/Columbia College of Nursing, where she later was dean of students.

Renee Lindner is WWBIC's Outreach Specialist and Kiva West Allis Capital Access Manager, and holds a BS in Business from Marquette University. Lindner has over 8 years experience in Economic Development and an additional 15 + years experience in Account Management and Human Resources in a variety of corporate settings. For Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC), Lindner leads the Milwaukee area outreach and strategic stakeholder partnering. For Kiva and on behalf of the City of West Allis, she leads the matching loan efforts. Economic Inclusivity is a key concept that runs through both roles and she is proud to represent both organizations as an ally to business owners in their pursuit of financial stability and meaningful work for themselves and for our broader communities.

Jessie Leonard is a native of Wisconsin and joined the Women Business Development Center in May of 2017. She brings over 18 years of experience as a diversity/supplier diversity practitioner, and is committed to using her skills to create access and opportunities for everyone. She is a graduate of Aleverno College, and has a BA in Communications with a Minor in Business Management. She has obtained certifications in Project Management, Human Resource Management & the Law, and the National Minority Supplier Development Council Supplier Diversity Certificate. Additionally, Jessie has lent her support and experience as a Board Member for The Business Council, Committee Member for the Women Development Business Center, Secretary for the Automotive Industry Group, and United Way Fund Raising Committee. All of which demonstrates her passion for inclusion and continuous professional growth and commitment in the Supplier Diversity arena and to the community at large.

Heather Varney is the co-founder and President of Aeroforce Logistics. She is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran with 20 years of aircraft maintenance, sustainment, and material sourcing expertise. She has held key roles at Raytheon, Computer Sciences Corporation, DynCorp, Boeing, and Midwest Airlines. At Aeroforce, Heather leads the strategic sourcing team, all aspects of purchasing, inventory planning and serves as it’s senior executive. She ensures Aeroforce is uniquely positioned as a go-to solutions provider in the aerospace and defense market.

Nick Weissenborn is the Vice President and co-founder of Aeroforce Logistics. He has spent 20 years across a variety of roles with one common theme: safe and reliable aircraft maintenance and operations. His positions have spanned the U.S. Air Force as a maintenance operations officer, FAA airframe licensed mechanic, and program manager at Derco/Sikorsky and Zodiac/Intertechnique. Nick leads the sales, business development, and quality assurance efforts at Aeroforce Logistics and is responsible for customer experience, and satisfaction. He sets the example for his team by ensuring Aeroforce is results orientated, data driven, and customer focused.
