November 26th, 2016 is the 7th annual Small Business Saturday since it's beginning by America Express in 2010. Small Business Saturday is a nationally recognized day as the Saturday after Thanksgiving, sandwiched between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Over 50 Billion dollars were spent in local areas in support of local business owners. Small Business Saturday is intended to drum up business for local merchants owned and operated by all/any types of businesses within communities. The Neighborhood event we are planning this year will have Business owners from South West Florida and many fun activities. We are excited to announce that two local nonprofits that does outstanding services within our community will benefit from proceeds of this event, America C.A.R.E.S stop Bullying and Caleb's Crusade against Childhood Cancer.
AMERICA C.A.R.E.S. Mission is to increase community awareness and education, to eliminate occurrences of bullying and to empower young people to speak out for equality in taking a strong stand against emotional and physical abuse. CALEB’S CRUSADE'S Mission is helping families raise funds
when faced with Pediatric Cancer The funds Caleb's Crusade collects gets designated to families by way of grants, all types of direct bill pays, spending money for trips (which allows families to make irreplaceable memories), travel for treatment, an occasional gift for the patient or a sibling & so much more! The founders Rob & Monique Whan began Caleb's Crusade in their son's name who lost his battle at the age of 4, Their goals are to be a support system to families who unfortunately are experiencing the same and advocate for more than 4% being designated for childhood cancer research towards a cure.
