About this event

Starting a business or setting a project up for success can be extremely difficult without the expert know-how to find the right funding, create and grow your target audience, or find the right collaborators. COVID-19 has presented unprecedented challenges for entrepreneurs and business owners.

At this event, attendees will receive direct access to successful founders and entrepreneurs who will mentor them on topics such as:

-Tiffany Joy Murchison, CEO of TJM & CO. Media Boutique will advice on growing your customer base

-Corrinne Graham, President of GRAHAM International Consulting and Research Inc. will advise on developing partnerships

Zachary Sharaga, Founder and CEO of Dear Mama Coffee will advise on increasing sales

Ayala Donchin, Founder and Executive Chef of Evelyn's Kitchen will advise on Building a brand and promoting your business

During the event each of the four (4) mentors will meet with small groups for 30 minutes. Mentees should come to the event prepared to ask their mentors specific questions, meet potential collaborators and learn new tactics and strategies to approach their business and/or projects. Tickets are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis, and entry will be given to those who show up first until we reach capacity.

About the organizers:

Small Business Mentors NYC is a mentorship program provided by the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) for existing storefront business owners who face systemic barriers seeking to grow their businesses. The program, introduced by the Mayor’s Taskforce on Racial Inclusion and Equity, connects operating storefront business owners to the specialized guidance and social networks they need to succeed.

BE NYC Mentors is New York City's inaugural mentorship program for Black entrepreneurs seeking to start a business. The program aims to increase the number of new Black-owned businesses in high-growth industries.
