Pinellas County is offering free hazardous waste training for Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQGs) and Small Quantity Generators (SQGs) of hazardous waste. The training is designed to give a general overview of the hazardous waste regulations. The training also includes regulatory updates and industry examples.
The training session is broken into two sessions:
• The morning session from 9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. covers basic hazardous waste requirements for businesses, including waste determinations, proper storage, disposal options, recordkeeping and emergency planning.
• The afternoon session from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. covers additional topics, including waste minimization and pollution prevention guidance, waste assessments, recycling options, and an overview of the new Globally Harmonized System (GHS) chemical hazard identification requirements.

Will refreshments be provided?
Coffee and light refreshments will be provided at the morning session. Lunch will be on your own.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Carpooling is encouraged. Parking is available at the facility but is limited. Overflow parking is available along 125th Street.

The SQG Program partners with the Compliance Assistance Program Sector of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), specifically focusing on businesses that are Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQGs) and Small Quantity Generators (SQGs) of hazardous waste.
