Description

The holiday season is right around the corner, which means it is almost time for the best Smack Kitchen of the year!!! This has become our premier event, a time for Smackerz old and new to come together and share in eachothers good cheer, a couple drinks, and our good food.

For this event we will set sail on the World Famous Tiki Boat, and enjoy the holiday lights around Newport Harbor. Food and cocktails will be served on board, and the cruise will last 3 hours.

This is a great event for first time Smackerz, so come one come all, let's celebrate another holiday season in true Southern Californian fashion.

Hope to see you all there,

Jeremy

P.S.

Little tid-bit of info: My wife Megan's Great Great Great Grandfather, Capt. Samuel Dunnels, was the first person to bring a heavy vessel into Newport Harbor, and to establish a maritime trade route between San Diego and Newport. His pilot boat is still on display in San Diego, at the Maritime Museum.

From Wikipedia: Desperate for materials and food, residents of (Newport Harbor Area) were thrilled when Captain Samuel Sumner Dunnels cautiously guided his 105-ton, flat-bottomed steamer Vaquero into the virtually unexplored Newport Bay, then known as San Joaquin Bay, on September 10, 1870. Heavily loaded with 5,000 shingles and 5,000 feet of lumber from San Diego, he entered the bay slowly. He was successful, and Newporters finally had a source of needed supplies. Before long, he had constructed a small wharf and warehouse near the west end of today's Newport Bay Bridge
