The Slugs to Sludge Wastewater 5K is a walk which follows the path of wastewater from the UC-Santa Cruz campus to the Wastewater Treatment Plant at Neary Lagoon. Along the way, participants will learn about the poetics and politics of human waste, and the water required to process it, as they travel through several different hybrid landscapes of wilderness and human infrastructure. All proceeds from the event will benefit Take Back The Tap.
Shirts, sludge cake, and other surprises will be provided!
Registration starts at 9:00 a.m.
Event starts at 9:30 a.m.
Park and meet at East Remote Lot. Course ends at Neary Lagoon Park. Buses run every 30 minutes back to campus.

Waste Water Research Group @ DANM
The Waste Water Research Group is a group formed to design and stage experiences to raise awareness of environmental issues. We're researching a variety of water issues, including water scarcity and quality around the Santa Cruz campus. The group is lead by Andrea Steves & Timothy Furstnau (Digital Arts & New Media) and includes Jill Ganley, Zoe Manoguerra, Karina M. Tavares Perez, Bailey Clark, Brooke Basile, and Jessica Mosleh.
