Event description

Description

Slow Food Pittsburgh invites you to a tasting that demonstrates all milks are not created equal. Different animals, different farming and processing methods, even different seasons result in different flavors. The Mennonite and Amish farmers of Swiss Villa will paint a picture of their practices, steeped in tradition and culture, as you sample the rich and nuanced flavors of their raw cow, goat, and sheep’s milks. Chad Townsend will discuss why he prefers milk from local, small-scale dairy farms to produce the famous flavors of Millie’s Ice Cream – samples included! Last but not least, Trevett Hooper of Legume Bistro will offer a sneak peek at his latest dining venue, Pie For Breakfast. Come to meet your farmers and some fellow foodies, and experience a taste of Slow Food!
