About this event

MONDAY, APRIL 24TH. 11A - 3P

Slow Fish North America and Slow Food USA are proud to present a Slow Fish Rising Tide Chef Camp in partnership with Slow Food Philly to bring sustainable seafood programming to the Greater Philadelphia & Mid-Atlantic area.

Rising Tide events are collaborations between Slow Fish North America, Slow Food USA, and Slow Food communities throughout the US and Canada. By coordinating regional events centered on the shared values around food that is good, clean, and fair, we aim to bring more people into the conversation about why seafood with values matters.

Chef Camps convene local chefs to discuss sourcing, building relationships with local fishermen and producers, and educating customers on why knowing where seafood comes from matters. Chefs learn about the bigger picture of seafood sustainability, and how that understanding impacts the decisions they make when sourcing, preparing, and telling the story of the seafood they sell in their restaurants.

Slow Food Philly is excited to invite you to this private event for area chefs!

During the event we will:

  • Network with chefs, a fisherman, and seafood businesses in our region;
  • Learn about what Slow Fish means for our local chefs;
  • Talk about sourcing sustainable seafood with values for your businesses;
  • Taste wild Alaskan salmon & local fish and farmed oysters; and,
  • Enjoy a complimentary lunch featuring sustainable seafood and local libations
