Description

Experience the freedom of playing hockey on a sled, pushing yourself around the ice using 2 sticks. Learn to skate, stickhandle, shoot and score. Coaches will be available to provide 1-1 instruction on sled hockey basics. All equipment will be provided including protective equipment, sleds and sticks.

Stay after the in-ice session for refreshments, conversations with players, and a question and answer session with the coach.

There is no obligation or expectation that participants will choose to join the team.

Sled Hockey is is an adaptive sport open to physically disabled youth and adults age 6-60. Players can choose to play recreational or competitive hockey. Recreational players will practice and play cross ice game with the opportunity to play a few games against other teams. Competitive players will have the opportunity to travel to tournaments and play in the National Sled Hockey festival held on Pittsburgh the first weekend in April.

Can't make an open house? That's OK. Guests are invited to try sled hockey during any practice which is usually 11:10 to 12:10 every Saturday at the Pop Weaver Youth Pavilion on the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
