Event description

Description

Join the conversation about what matters most for kids and families in South Louisiana... make sure your voice is heard!

As you read this, hundreds of conversations are happening across South Louisiana region to engage teachers, parents, students and community leaders in conversations about how we can make sure our schools are as as effective as possible for children in our region. Now is the time to put those conversations into action!

On Saturday, October 28th, you, your friends and colleagues, students, parents and community leaders alike are invited to come together for an Issues Assembly in Baton Rouge to vote on the top three priorities to work on as a community. It’s the first step in our process for solving some of South Louisiana's most pressing problems through collective, grassroots action.

Imagine a room packed full of hundreds of teachers, parents, students and others who care about education, voting for the issues most widely and deeply felt across our state. We will emerge from this Issues Assembly as a stronger collective committed to working together, with three Issue Action Teams assembled to move forward on concrete actions for the 2017-2018 school year.

We are still looking for individuals to host House Meetings, so if you are interested, please reach out!

Haven’t had a chance to attend a house meeting or meet with us yet? You still can! Contact brendan.csaposs@educationalequity.org for more information.

We are so excited to join together to ensure a bright future for our young people. See you there!
