Championship Meet Preparation
Little things can go a long way on race day. As an Olympic gold medalist, Gunnar Bentz knows what it takes to step up on the blocks at the end of the season and make it happen! Learn from him where your focus should be as you wrap up your season and prepare for your end of season meet!
-
STARTS: Explode off the blocks and blast ahead of the competition! Learn how to improve your reaction time, drive through your legs, and enter in a tight streamline. Begin each race with an advantage by learning from Gunnar!
-
FEEL FOR THE WATER: Gunnar will help the participants at this clinic "tune-up" their strokes by practicing feel for the water drills. Grab and grip onto the water to get more distance out of each stroke. This is a skill that all elite athletes have. Give your swimmer the opportunity to learn how to develop this skill now and in the future.
-
BODYLINE: The foundation of every stroke and streamline is a strong body line. Tom will work with participants on how to maintain the proper posture to slice through the water with less resistance. Engage your core and hold the proper head position so you can swim faster with less effort!
-
MENTAL PREPARATION: You've done the work... now it's time to show the world what you've got! When you step up on the blocks, what is going through your head? Gunnar will work with the participants at this swim clinic to find the right mindset for them so they can dive in with confidence and finish with a big smile!
ASK QUESTIONS: Swimmers and parents are invited to ask Gunnar questions during a Q&A session. Gain insight into their training regimen, diet and nutrition, and recovery tactics. Get to know her and relate to his journey as inspiration for yourself.
WATCH THE CLINICIAN: Observe Gunnar swim at full speed and demonstrate a progression of perfectly executed drills to achieve powerful, efficient and fast swimming. Visual learners will greatly benefit from not only seeing drills and exercises done correctly, but also from seeing them live and in person!
PRACTICE DRILLS: Learn the same drills that Gunnar practices every day as well as what he thinks about when he swims. Then get the chance to practice them and get feedback!
