Details

#EverybodyIsAWinner

As you may have already heard, Slavic Game Jam is competition-free. There are no votes, presentations or prizes which leads to the best part: everybody has plenty of time to play everyone's games at the Showcase and just chill.

#Showcase
Slavic Game Jam features games Showcase where every team can set up their games for other jammers to play. What's more, it will be open to the public, meaning more people can come and enjoy them! It also serves a very important purpose: getting valuable feedback from the players. It's fun and educating at the same time :)

#Hydepark
We're bringing back Slavic Game Jam Hyde Park - a place filled with you! Anybody can do anything they want in HydePark - lecture, workshop, showcase your work, play games or do crazy stuff. A perfect way to let your creativity go wild!

#SlavicTalks
Some of you missed the good ol' lectures, so this year we're trying something new - Slavic Talks. A day (Thursday) filled only with gamedev knowledge brought to you by professional developers. An excellent way to get yourself hyped up before the jam, discuss, talk and get ready for the party ;)

#PreParty
We highly encourage you to join us on Thursday for Slavic Game Jam Pre-party. Every year we do our best to bring talented musicians working in the game industry from all around the world to play at the party. It's also a great opportunity to meet other devs and maybe even find your team for the jam!

#Afterparty
Game jam is finished, all things are wrapped up, but this is not the end! Join us at the official SGJ19 Afterparty - let's chill out together, talk and drink some beers.

#Accommodation
It’s possible to sleep on site from Friday through Sunday during the jam (unfortunately we do not provide accommodation after Thursday’s party). However, we'll provide you with a discount for Tandem Warsaw Hostel in a convenient location not far from the jam. You can buy 1 or 3 nights in addition to Standard or Supporter ticket and let us worry about the details ;)

Also, there are many super friendly people in Warsaw that would love to host you for Slavic Game Jam, just ask around! ;)

F.A.Q.

• Who is this event for?

Professionals, students, beginners, basically every game enthusiast can try their skills in a game jam, you are all welcome :) On a jam like this you can find mostly programmers and graphic artists, but also sound designers, writers, designers or producers.

• Is it required to have a team before going to a game jam?

No. It’s a common practice to arrive without a premade team, meet new people and form a team together. Or if you feel confident enough, you can always work solo.

• Can a minor participate in a game jam?

Anyone wishing to take part must be at least 18 years of age or otherwise provide a written consent from parent/legal guardian allowing to participate in the game jam.

• Is it required to have your own equipment?

Yes, you should have your own laptop/PC and other equipment with you, as we do not provide any electronic devices for participants. We also recommend installing/upgrading your software and tools to save time during the setup.

If you have any questions, feel free to write to us, post or comment ;)
