Event description
Immersive, all-day summit that empowers hustlers, doers and creators to uncover their purpose & achieve financial independence.

About this Event

S/ASHIE SUMMIT

A collaborative, inclusive and immersive summit that empowers hustlers, doers and creators to uncover their purpose and achieve financial independence despite the stigma behind creative aspirations.

WHO IS A SLASHIE?

Slashies are generally members of the millennial demographic, who choose to include various ‘side hustles’ in their professional titles to which they devote their time—in addition to their nine-to-five.

Our community thrives when more creative minds and independently-led companies join the conversation, and that’s why we ourselves are Slashies. We are a group of South Asian and Indo-Caribbean millennial creatives who celebrate "non-traditional" career paths and seek to redefine professional success.

The summit is an inclusive space welcoming of male allies, gender non-conforming, queer, and transgender individuals of South Asian descent.

OUR PURPOSE

Given the traditional expectations of careers for South Asians and Indo-Caribbeans, S/ashie Summit aims to inspire those in and beyond our network to value their creative pursuits beyond the status quo.

More than 50 percent of millennials living in the USA have a side hustle — which is enough validation for South Asians and Indo-Caribbea to harness their passions as well, but we do have the same access to resources, tools, expertise and mentors we can lean on.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Now in our second year, we’re looking forward to hosting 300+ South Asian and Indo-Caribbea creatives and visionaries in Hudson Yards on November 9th. This one-day experience will bring together creatives united in their desire to build a safe, inclusive and supportive community.

To elevate this year’s summit, we’re launching two focused tracks with programming focused on uncovering your purpose or monetizing the hustle.
