Slap Shot Ya Mama Hockey Tournament For Mission Vets
Description
October 9th -11th
This year's Slap Shot Tourney will benefit Mission Vets. Mission Vets is a charitable organization whose mission is to create a life-changing impact on veterans by offering specific job training scholarships providing opportunities for these returning men and women to support themselves and their families.
During the tournament we will have raffle items, t-shirts for sale, 50/50 raffle and other fun things to raise as much as we can to give our Veterans scholarships for job training.
Our Heroes don't wear capes they wear dog tags! But what Super Hero Team will draft you??
We will be playing an exciting hockey tournament format called “Fours Hockey”, in which each team plays with four members on the ice at a time. Fours Hockey is designed specifically for tournament play and meshes perfectly with a draft team format!
Each person will register as a single and you will meet your team Friday night. If you haven't experienced Fours Hockey before, we can answer all your questions about the format as well.
Our sponsor hotel will be added soon with a link to reserve your room at a doscounted rate.
Each player will be guaranteed XX games and will receive a team jersey. (Size guaranteed if registered by Sept 18th)
Welcome back FOURS HOCKEY! Come try something new and fun...
Fours Hockey:
There will be an elimination series to determine the top 2 teams, who will play for the "Slap Shot Ya Mama” Cup, in an exciting extended 15 minute championship game! Eliminated teams will play for their own respective prizes (hint...may include personal pride)!
USA Hockey rules are in effect except for some tournament specific modifications and those defined by “Fours Hockey” rules: All players are required to follow USA Hockey equipment recommendations. This is a non-checking event. Body checking is not permitted at any level. Slap Shots are allowed. Fighting WILL NOT be tolerated. Any players involved in a fight as deemed by the game officials will receive an automatic game misconduct (1 game suspension) and could result in expulsion from the tournament determined by tournament directors. Major penalties such as spearing or butt-ending could result in expulsion from the tournament. The “Fours Hockey” rules are a set of 10 statements which define the game and will be shared with those who register to play.
