'Slalom' quilt workshop - bias tape applique
Sat, July 15, 2017, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM BST
Choose between creating the beautiful curves of either the Slalom Quilt on Saturday 15th July or the Sunflower Quilt on Sunday 16th July. This booking is for the 'Slalom' quilt. On either course, you can choose to create a panel to be used for a cushion or a bag or get started on your own quilt using Jenny's own patterns.
Learn how to cut, shape and machine-sew curves with bias tape. In this class teacher Jenny Haynes of Papper, Sax, Sten will talk you through different ways of using bias tape, discussing which technique works best for what project and how to get a neat finish. We get to try 'hands on' sewing with bias tape by making a start on the 'Slalom' Quilt. This is a quick and fun pattern- an easy way to create curves without piecing. This class suits anyone who's got a few machine sewn projects under their belt.
This is a course for those with some previous sewing or quilting experience and a wonderful opportunity for quilters wanting to add new skills to their repertoire!
You will need to bring fabrics of your choice (we recommend a quilting cotton weight and quality) but an instruction list will be sent to you 28 days before the course. Lunch is included in the price of the course.
If you wish to book both the Slalom Quilt and Sunflower Quilt courses together, there is a 10% discount.
