We are pleased to announce that the sixth meeting of the Sea Level and Coastal Change (SLaCC) group will take place Wednesday 28th-Friday 30th June 2023 in Dublin, Ireland, hosted by Robin Edwards and Iris Moeller at Trinity College Dublin. The meeting includes a field day excursion to Dublin Bay.

The meeting aims to bring together scientists from across the UK and NW Europe to discuss their work in all aspects of sea level and coastal changes. We welcome cross-disciplinary engagement at the meeting across sea level and coastal processes, encompassing research that explores past, contemporary and future changes. Postgraduate attendance is particularly encouraged and supported by reduced registration fees.

Conference Outline

The meeting will consist of two days of talks and posters covering the themes of the meeting on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday we will have a full day field excursion to Dublin Bay; here we will explore the coastal environments of Bull Island, the Dublin Bay UNESCO Biosphere, and Quaternary features at Bottle Quay, considering the processes that shaped these landscapes, the pressures on these settings, and their vulnerability to future sea-level change.

On the Tuesday evening prior to the conference there will be an informal social gathering that all delegates are welcome to attend. On the Wednesday evening there will be a Conference Dinner that delegates can attend, and an informal dinner that delegates can attend on the Thursday.

Please indicate on the payment page whether you will be submitting an abstract for oral or poster presentation. The meeting registration fee includes tea/coffee refreshments and lunch on Wednesday and Thursday, and packed lunch and transport for the field excursion on Friday. The Conference Dinner on Wednesday is an optional event at additional cost. If you have any dietary or access requirements please indicate them when registering.

No accommodation is included in the registration fee. There are many accommodation options in Dublin, such as accommodation at Trinity College Dublin, that you should arrange yourselves. The meeting is taking place at Trinity College Dublin, which is centrally located in Dublin.

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations should be completed on the template form on the meeting website:
