Description

Join us for the first SLA Berkshire branch UNCONFERENCE

10.00am - 4.00pm (registration and refreshments from 9.30am)

The day will consist of a mix of speakers, workshops and break-out sessions. Alison Tarrant, new SLA Director, is joining us to talk about her vision for the SLA and school libraries, and we have Simon James Green, author, screenwriter and director whose book "Noah Can't Even" has been optioned for TV.

There will be a session on CPD - how to overcome barriers of time, money and lack of support - useful if you are going for professional qualifications or just want to update your skills and are struggling to do so.

Do you want to know how you can support your sixth form or students undertaking an EPQ? do you need ideas for promoting reading for pleasure? are you struggling with keeping up with what's been published? Delegates will be able to raise any issues and concerns which will be addressed in focused break-out sessions.

Please bring your own lunch and cake/s to share for afternoon tea!

Badge competition - make your own badge, prizes for the best!

The day is completely flexible - if you can only join us for the morning or afternoon, please do still come along. Everyone is welcome ... anyone who is working in a school library - librarians, teachers, TAs.
