SKW Constructors is building the tunnel sections in Sparrows Point for the Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) Elizabeth River Tunnel Project in Baltimore and needs qualified workers. The Project, located in Norfolk and Portsmouth, Virginia, will consist of site work, bridge work, marine/tunnel work and services for the rehabilitation of the existing Downtown and Midtown Tunnels.
This information session will describe the project, production and the jobs skills needed, the timing for recruitment and how to apply. Multiple jobs skills are needed and include:
· Construction Labors: general laborers, with the ability to work in an outside environment, with concrete.
· Concrete Finishers: heavy civil concrete carpenters with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, construct built in place or prefabricated wooden and /or metal forms, according to specifications for molding concrete structures. Will work from scaffolding and ability to work from heights up to 150 ft.
· Carpenter Structure: constructs built-in-place forms for molding concrete structures, scaffolds, falsework and chutes for pouring concrete.
Additional information sessions which will address how to express interest in potential employment opportunities with SKW will start in March. You must be registered in the Maryland Workforce Exchange to attend these information sessions. You are encouraged to go to https://mwejobs.maryland.gov/
