Event description
SKOOL, a new documentary, probes youth seizing power over their own lives and place in society, starting with their education.

About this Event

Join the Kansas City community at the first showing in the nation of a Jon Long documentary, a filmmaker who has worked with Universal, PBS, and Disney. SKOOL probes youth seizing power over their own lives and place in society, starting with their education. In a world that is changing before our eyes, kids now need to reinvent themselves in a way no previous generation has ever had to imagine.

So why are we stuck with an education system left over from the Industrial Age? The screening will invite youth that have experienced this revolution firsthand and are a part of the wave of change-makers rethinking education. This one-night, free event will provide an opportunity for a community dialogue about putting students in the center of education.
