Skip Barnett Ranch Field Trip (Denton County)
Event Information
Description
Join us on a field trip to the historic Barnett Ranch. The Barnett family has run a cattle ranching operation on 1,200 acres in Denton County for generations. It has lush native grass pastures, Fort Worth Prairie seeps, wonderful exposed Cretaceous geology, & prairie barrens. History is plentiful on this ranch as you can still see the wagon ruts of the Chisholm Trail where it once crossed this land. 990 acres of the property has been placed into a conservation easement managed by Connemara Conservancy.
