Event description
An afternoon of performance and conversation featuring SKIN, a frank and funny queer love story about resiliency after sexual violence.

About this Event

Writer, performer, activist, Vassar aluma, and founder of the first-ever #HealMeToo Festival and Podcast (healmetoofest.com) Hope Singsen, will perform her one-woman play with original music, SKIN. SKIN is a frank and funny queer love story about reclaiming sexuality, love and wholeness after sexual violence.

Following the performance of SKIN, Singsen and three members of the Hudson Valley therapeutic community will lead an interactive conversation with the audience. Singsen and art therapist Kelley Linhardt of Cold Spring’s Dancing Dialogue will share music and movement tools for resiliency, and therapists from Poughkeepsie’s Family Services and Grace Smith House will discuss ways we can each advocate for survivors in our lives. The afternoon is also billed as a pop-up #HealMeToo Festival event.

“Amazing show. Fabulous.” -- Tonya Pinkins, Tony Award-winning actor, playwright, and producer.

“One of the best solo shows I have ever seen… I was blown away.” -- Elizabeth Van Dyke, Award-winning director and member of Ensemble Studio Theatre, NYC.

“Speechless.” “Magic.” “Tour de force.” -- Poughkeepsie audiences.
