HANDS-ON WORKSHOP ~ Learn SketchUp 3D modeling & visualization software with Greg Braun.

Learn Sketchup at this comprehensive overview on visualizing, creating, and presenting your work using freely available SketchUp software with Greg Braun, local artist, professional CAD consultant and training instructor.

Free software usually comes with limitations and frustrations. SketchUp software breaks this stereotype and provides a unique, and vibrant set of tools to visualize just about anything, simply and quickly. Professional architects, designers, artists, set designers, and computer game designers use this software to create some amazing images and objects. Greg will show you how to use this invaluable software tool in creating 3D models, visualizations, installations, and/or ways to work out problems with three dimensional sketches and studies. You will be shown how to create walk-through animations with sun studies and place objects directly into Google Earth for viewing your projects and presenting them to others. A must-attend event, even if you only have the slightest bit of computer savvy.

Do you need to create interior layouts to preview an installation scenario? Maybe produce a site installation presentation? How about just laying out some parts and pieces for fabrication?  You might even discover a new application or create a new work during the class.

The workshop is designed to help you quickly use SketchUp, creating usable results in just a couple of hours. Guidance on using the software interface and mastering the basic tools and concepts will be covered. The main focus of this workshop is to nurture those who are brand new to SketchUp, but those who have dabbled a bit or have used the software before will still benefit from the tips and tricks presented.

* (Also included in the SketchUp Workshop registration fee is admission to Greg's presentation, about his work & using SketchUp, which will take place on Friday evening, February 22nd, at 7PM, at Fab Lab DC, click here for more info.)
