SJ5K 2017: May 7 at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park (P-CEP)
Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM (EDT)
This is the 7th annual SJ5k hosted at P-CEP in partnership with the Educational Excellence Foundation. This student-led, completely volunteer event was first held in 2011 in honor of then sixteen -year old P-CEP student Jesse Lindlbauer (known as Super Jess--hence, the SJ5k), who suffered a traumatic brain injury. The community came together to show support, give hope, and raise funds for the Lindlbauer family. Jesse and his family are integral parts of the event each year.
After a successful event in 2011, the PCEP made the SJ5K an annual event to honor local families in need. To date it has raised and donated over $3300,000 for 19 local families.
This year’s race will benefit families from the P-CCS area that are in need of financial and community support.
A Legacy Fund has been established to provide support for the continuing needs of our past honorees. There are two ways you can support this fund. Donations can be made by selecting the "Legacy Fund Donation" ticket option. In addition, a new option for a long-sleeved race t-shirt has been added, and $3.00 from each of these shirts will go toward the Legacy Fund.
