From Feb-July, subject-matter experts will focus on topics especially relevant to older adults and their families, caregivers, and professionals. February 23: Blue Zones Project “Living Longer, Better in Fort Worth”. Learn the secrets of the world’s longest lived individuals, and how you can add healthy years to your life!
Shirley Brady is a champion of well-being with extensive career experience having launched the Healthways SilverSneakers Fitness Program and Prime in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and served on the team that conducted the 2013 assessment which led to determining Fort Worth viability in becoming a Blue Zones City. In her current role as Community Relations Coordinator for Blue Zones Project Fort Worth, she is helping to transform well-being in Fort Worth by coordinating and supporting the execution of key Blue Zones Project engagement programs. She is also a board member of the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth. She lives in Keller with her husband Bob and has one daughter and one granddaughter.
Suggested Directions to the Feb. 23rd Lecture
For improved access to the Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) Dorothy and Norman M. Kronick Building, avoid Henderson Street between Belknap and Northside Drive due to the heavy construction and road closures.
Route #1: From I-30, take University north. Turn right on White Settlement Road, then left on Vacek. TAFB’s Kronick building will be on your right at Cullen Street (at the traffic circle).
Route #2: From I-30, take Henderson north to 7th street. Turn left on 7th, then right on Carroll St. Carroll ends at White Settlement. Turn right onto White Settlement, then a quick left on Vacek. TAFB’s Kronick building will be on your right at Cullen Street (at the traffic circle).
Route #3: From the north, at Jacksboro Highway (199) and Northside/University Drive, take University Drive south to Cullen Street. Turn left onto Cullen Street. Go through the first traffic circle, then take a right at the second traffic circle onto Vacek. TAFB’s Kronick building is on your left.
