Description

This course promotes leadership development through the study of Ken Blanchard’s Situational Leadership model. model is based on the relationship between an individual’s development level (competence and commitment) on a specific goal or task and the leadership style (direction and support) the leader provides. Through a hands-on examination of the research, self-assessment and reflection, participants will create a personal leadership development plan that can implemented immediately.

Prep-work required: To fully participate in the class, participants must complete the Leader Behavior Analysis (LBAII) prior to attending the course (approximate completion time is 30–45 minutes).

Learning Objectives

  • Diagnose the development levels of employees and choose the appropriate leadership style
  • Create a communication model for all levels of the organization to support cultural change and move toward a high-performance organization
  • Become a flexible leader who is highly skilled at goal setting, coaching, performance evaluation, active listening, feedback, and proactive problem solving
  • Increase individual and organizational accountability by linking goals and planned intentions to an action plan

Audience: anyone who has direct reports or manages others

Length: 1 hour prep work + 3 ½ hours class
