Event description

Description

This professional training is free and intended for classroom teachers, physical education teachers, and youth activity program staff. The activities are appropriate for use with elementary and middle schools. Our goal is to provide new activities, with a focus on integrating academics with fitness and physical activity. Activities help promote academic achievement, fitness, experiential learning, team building, and communication.

This training is hosted by Indian Health Care Resource Center, the Muscogee Creek Nation, the Wewoka Indian Clinic, the Tulsa Health Department – It’s All about Kids program, and is supported by the Southern Plains Tribal Health Board.

The training will feature guest presenter Scott Robison (Muscogee Creek), M. Ed. He has dedicated his 25 years of professional work helping youth and families adopt healthy lifestyles and schools provide a healthier environment. Scott’s approach to physical activity is to provide a positive experience with movement and physical activity regardless of a person’s size, shape, or ability level.

This is a physically active training, so come dressed to move and participate all day!

***You will be released for lunch on your own.***

Guest Speaker: Scott Robison (Muscogee Creek), M. Ed.

Scott is a graduate of Western Carolina University with a BS in Physical Education and East Central University with a Master’s degree in Education. During the past 20 years, Scott has presented at several local, State, and National workshops and conventions with a focus on increasing physical activity in children by helping them experience success and fun.
