Pathways to STEM Careers
(Target Grade: 6-12th grade)
This symposium is geared towards raising awareness of STEM career opportunities and pathways for minority women who have an interest in STEM. Three keynote speakers for science, engineering, and medicine will be invited to speak. Lastly, students, educators from K-12, higher educational institutions, community organizations, and corporate leaders will be invited to participate and lead in discussions about STEM education and careers for the 21st Century.
This symposium is FREE and geared towards increasing the participation, retention and advancement of minority girls in science, technology, engineering and math.
Girls attending our conference will:
- Engage in hands-on activities
- Become aware of the wide variety of STEM career opportunities and pathways
- Gain a new enthusiasm for STEM
- Participate in small group mentoring session with female industry role models
- Learn the importance of taking classes in science, math and technology in middle school and high school
- Gain knowledge and understanding why STEM is important in the 21st Century

The student should enter their name, but use their guardian/parent email please.
Are parents allowed to accompany their children to the Symposium?
Parents are welcome to attend, the atrium has been reserved for parents. The opening session will be geared towards parents/guardians, and participants. A vendor fair will be onsite for parents following the opening session.
Is there a cost to attend the Symposium?
The Symposium is free to all attendees who have pre-registered and confirmed attendance.

Sisters in Engineering, Science, and Medicine, Inc.
We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to sponsoring women and minorities in their exploration of careers in science, engineering and medicine. We support middle school and high school female students to attend STEM enrichment programs in the metro Atlanta area. In addition, we provide educational development, mentoring, field experiences, and professional development for young women who are pursuing STEM degrees.
