Amazing how time flies! We are already preparing for our last meeting of the year. Please join us for our Christmas celebration and thanksgiving on December 10, 2016.
It’s that time of the year again; we are entering into the Christmas season when we give and exchange gifts with one another. As much as I enjoy giving and receiving gifts at Christmas, it is important for us to remember that the greatest gift of all was God's gift to us. It is “the gift that keeps on giving”.
Christmas is about God’s gift of His son. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son……” John 3:16. A gift is an expression of a giver’s heart, we as the recipients get it, but not because we have earned, merited or deserved it. It is simply an expression of the loving heart of God the giver. In 2 Corinthians 9:15 Paul refers to that gift when he wrote “thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. Another translation says “thank God, then for his indescribable generosity to you”. In appreciation of his generous gift to us; we need to extend that generosity to others, especially the less privileged. As we go about our Christmas shopping, let us remember the orphans, widows, single parents and families that will go without this Christmas.
It is our custom when we get together for our last meeting of the year and our Christmas celebration to receive our yearly donation to support the orphanage. In the past two years we have sponsored Christmas party for an orphanage and a home for vulnerable children in Nigeria. I was privileged to visit the home and the children on my recent visit to Nigeria, I am happy to report that our little support is going a long way to bless the ministry and the children. I will share more about this visit when we meet. Please consider monetary donation towards the support of these vulnerable children and orphans.
Please register by December 6, 2016; if you are planning on attending the meeting.
Feel free to forward this invite to your friends.
