Boordy has a special place in our hearts, it was the place where we surprised Ali with a 30th Birthday outing in 2017 and a break from cancer.

Ali Hartsock recently lost her battle of cancer this past April. Her story began when she was pregnant with her son, Caleb in the Fall of 2015. Shortly after finding out she was pregnant, she was also told 3 words you never want to hear “You have cancer.” On December 2nd, she made the move to John Hopkins, and her son was induced two days later at 34 weeks, for his and hers safety. On December 7th, 2015 she was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer. From December 2015 to September 2016, she received 9 rounds of aggressive chemotherapy and 6 rounds of maintenance chemo. After the Chemo, the scans did not show any shrinkage or any evidence of the chemo working. Then after a 4-month hiatus of treatment, she was then chosen for a clinical trial with immunotherapy at John Hopkins. July 2017, the scans showed no cancer cells in her body. The cancer was gone. February 2018, she was hit with the stomach bug and liver issues, which took her back to the hospital. Scans showed the answer that no one wanted to hear “the cancer was back.” March 2018, was a tough month for Ali. She was sicker than ever, however, she didn’t let that stop her. She lived life to the fullest those last few months. April 17th, 2018, Ali was told that the cancer had spread throughout her body, and there was nothing else they could do. She was given two weeks to live. So, from there, she checked herself out of the hospital and prepared for heaven. April 20th at 6:20 am, Ali had passed at the age of 31. Ali’s best friends and I, have been friends since the 9th grade. We’ve been through high school, colleges, weddings, babies and CANCER. Together we want to remember Ali's spirit and fight and hope one day there will be a cure.

We’re hoping to raise money for John Hopkins Cancer Research, in honor of Ali ♥️ Thank you.
