Event description

Description

Positive psychology aims to understand and build optimal development and functioning in individuals, organizations, and communities. Despite rapid growth and uptake by researchers and general audiences, the field has also been criticized for ignoring the complexities of everyday life and the impact of the psychosocial environments, undermining the reach, impact, and sustainability of interventions. A systems informed approach is needed.

That's what the Systems Informed Positive Psychology (SIPP) stream at the University of Melbourne's Centre for Positive Psychology is doing, and we invite you to join us on the journey. We invite you to an experiential day of building awareness, expanding boundaries, creating common purpose, and empowering change through collective inquiry and connection.

Held in one of Melbourne's most iconic tourist attractions, The Melbourne Zoo, the day will provide the opportunity to reconnect with yourself, with others, and with nature. Free entry and time to explore the zoo is included, along with a packed lunch (please let us know of dietary requirements).

We look forward to seeing you there for a truly systems experience Down Under!

FAQs

Is this part of the International Positive Psychology Association's World Congress?

To make it easier to include people from around the world, we have scheduled this the day to align with the IPPA World Congress, but the event is separate. Registration is separate from the World Congress registration, and you are welcome to attend the SIPP day even if you are not attending the World Congress.
