About Cellars 33
15 years ago, hobbyist brewer and lawyer John Fones met his future wife Katie, and she introduced him to California wines. After a wine cruise in Italy in 2007, John was “bitten by the bug” and decided to learn everything he could about winemaking. He began with a brief harvest internship at Freeman Winery in Sebastopol, California. Those two weeks were filled with 16 hour days of intensely physical, hard work. Reluctant to return home to his law practice in Baltimore, he immediately began planning for a return. The following two years were a whirlwind of interning and starting to make his first wines. Several years later, with slightly over 1,000 cases produced annually, Cellars 33 focuses on premium vineyard sites for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and whatever else Katie lets John make.
About Poco Dolce
Poco Dolce Confections was started by Kathy Wiley in 2003 as a small San Francisco bakery specializing in regional Italian pastries. Within a year, she discovered a passion for creating hand-made chocolates with unique and exciting flavors. Having a predilection for more savory foods, Kathy experimented by finishing a piece of bittersweet chocolate with a sprinkling of Grey Sea Salt (also known as Sel Gris). Poco Dolce's Bittersweet Chocolate Tiles were born.
The name - Poco Dolce - literally translates from Italian as "not too sweet" or "just a little sweet." Applying this idea to their products, Poco Dolce's ongoing mission is to stay on the "savory side of sweet."
